How to Use Appointment Statuses

Appointment Statuses

In this article, you'll learn how to manage and update the status of an appointment. From Confirmed to Checked In to Checked Out and how these changes appear in your Dashboard Overview.

Using appointment statuses helps your team stay aligned and informed throughout the patient's visit. Whether it's a consultation or a surgery, updating the status gives everyone a real-time view of the appointment's progress. This simple function improves coordination, reduces communication gaps, and contributes to a smoother patient experience.

Step-by-Step

1. Let’s say a Treatment Provider has a surgery scheduled for today. To begin, click on the appointment from the Schedule View

2. Here, you can see that the appointment is marked as "Confirmed." This status will be reflected in the Dashboard Overview. See the next slide

3. In the Dashboard Overview, you will see the treatment provider’s appointment for today listed under "Today's Appointments."

4. If you click on "Status" and change it to "Checked in," the update will automatically be reflected in the Dashboard Overview. See the next slide

5. It has now been moved to "Checked in" instead

6. If you change the status to "Checked Out," it will also be updated and reflected accordingly in the Dashboard Overview

7. The appointment has now been moved to the "Checked Out" section in the Dashboard Overview
