Add Pre-and Post Instructions To a Service
You can set up instructions that are sent to the patient before and after the appointment. This is a great way to make sure the patient comes prepared and to continue supporting them afterwards.
⚠️ Instructions are set up per Service, so remember to add them to all services.
There are two types of instructions:
- General: These instructions are sent out once the appointment is booked.
- Detailed instructions: These are time-based instructions and can be set up to go out X days/weeks/months before or after the appointment.
When the appointment is booked, the patient will receive an email that they have instructions to read in their Adoreal account. For the Detailed instructions, an email will be sent at the time they are scheduled to go out, such as 1 week before the appointment.
⚠️ Patients will have access to all instructions, General and Detailed, in their Adoreal account once the appointment has been booked. For the Detailed instructions, they will receive reminders to read them at the correct time.
Tip! Be creative with instructions! Your relationship with the patient starts with them, and they are a great way to not only communicate medical information, but also give a good first impression of your clinic. You can answer common questions patients have or give clinic-specific information, such as directions or where the best parking can be found.

Step by step
1. Go to Settings
2. Click on "Location Management"
3. Find the correct location and click "View Details"
4. Click "Services"
5. Find the correct service and click "VIEW DETAILS"
6. You can set up instructions for all appointment types. Here, we'll show the example of a Consultation
7. You can add Pre-instructions that go out to the patient when the booking is made.
8. You can also add time-sensitive instructions
9. With them, you can choose how many days, weeks or months ahead of the appointment date they will be sent out.
10. You can also set Post-instructions that will go out after the appointment, both general and time-sensitive.
11. Repeat for all appointment types (Surgery, Follow-ups...). Don't forget to click Save once you're done.
